The events of the past week have been absolutely surreal. The former, and likely future, President of the United States came inches from death at the hands of an assassin. Meanwhile, the current president, who has led our country into chaos and malaise, is facing calls from within his own party to step down, despite winning the Democratic primary in a landslide.
These are the times that try men’s souls, Thomas Paine said about the Revolutionary War. Our time is no less trying.
As a citizen of the United States, you have a powerful tool to change the direction of this country: Vote.
Vote for a president who will make America great again, and a Congress that is united in that same vision.
Yet even more important than presidents, congressmen, and senators, are your local elected officials. Do you know your city council members and your mayor? Do you know your state legislators and your county commissioners? These men and women have a much greater and more direct influence over the course of your life than anyone in Washington DC.
Are you registered to vote in Idaho? Click here to go to the secretary of state’s website to make sure. If you’re not registered, you can do it online.
As we approach Election Day on Tuesday, November 5, make a plan to vote. Do you have the time to vote in person on Election Day? Great! Make sure you know your polling place — click here to double check.
If you know you won’t have time to vote on Election Day, you can vote early. Early voting is just as secure as Election Day voting.
Finally, if you’re not sure you’ll have the time to vote in person, make sure to request an absentee ballot. You can fill it out in the comfort of your own home and then deposit it in a secure dropbox or send it via mail. Click here to request an absentee ballot.
