Idaho GOP District 14 Endorsements
These candidates best represent the Idaho Republican Platform
Earlier this year, the Idaho GOP District 14 Central Committee authorized endorsements for nonpartisan races. Gem County precinct committeemen decided not to endorse any candidates in Gem County this year, however Eagle PCs invited all registered Republican candidates in Ada County races to answer a questionnaire and sit down for an interview to discuss their Republican principles.
The Idaho Republican Party Platform is a document of principles that has been assembled over many years by delegates to state conventions. The current platform was adopted by the Idaho GOP Convention in Twin Falls in July 2022, and we invite you to read it here:
Each candidate was asked about whether or not they agreed with the platform, and what — if anything — they disagreed with. It’s not a problem to disagree on something here or there. We did not demand pure ideological conformity, rather we sought transparency so that voters can have the full picture before casting their ballot.
Not all candidates chose to participate. Some filled out their questionnaires but did not sit for an interview, while others came for the interview without filling out their questionnaires. The committee took all of these things into account as they rated each candidate. The committee asked many probing questions about each candidate’s principles and how they plan to implement them should they win election this November.
The full LD14 Committee listened to the recommendations of the Eagle PCs and voted on each in turn. After deliberation, the committee officially endorsed the following candidates:
Jason Pierce, Mayor of Eagle
Mary May, Eagle City Council
Craig Kvamme, Eagle City Council
Nate Murphy, Eagle Fire Commissioner
Tom Moore, West Ada School Board, Zone 5
The District 14 Republicans would like to thank everyone who participated in the process. We hope this gives voters confidence as they cast their ballots on November 7.
