After three weeks of early voting in Ada and Gem Counties, Legislative District 14 has led the state in citizens turning out to vote. 19,212 citizens cast their ballots, either early in person or by mail, more than any other district in Idaho.
This is great news, and it’s exciting to see so many people fired up to vote this year. If you have not voted, make a plan to vote on Election Day! There has never been a more important election. Even though Donald Trump will surely win Idaho’s 4 electoral votes, we want to see him win the popular vote as well, as a message to America and the world that he has a real mandate to govern this great nation.
Idahoans must also make sure to vote in order to defeat Proposition 1, the initiative to impose a jungle primary and ranked choice voting on our state. Nearly the entire Republican Party has united in opposition to this terrible idea, and we need to send a strong message to Reclaim Idaho and their powerful out-of-state friends that we will not allow our elections to be bought and manipulated!
Finally, there are several important races on the ballot as well. We want to see District 14’s three legislative candidates — Sen. C. Scott Grow and Reps. Ted Hill and Josh Tanner — return to Boise to continue doing the work of the people. Gem County’s candidates are unopposed, but the Ada County races are contested, so make sure to vote for your Republican candidates there.
If you live outside of District 14, make sure to vote as well. Take nothing for granted — make a plan to vote on Tuesday, November 5, if you haven’t already! Check back here next week for a breakdown of District 14’s results.
