Eagle Fun Days 2024

A day nobody will ever forget

The District 14 Republicans were proud to be a part of the summer celebration at Eagle Fun Days this year. With temperatures reaching 106°, we gave out free water to all and shared information about our local candidates and the scourge of ranked choice voting.

We especially thank Alexis Scott and Ashley Mujagic, the Youth Chairs for Canyon and Ada County, for working the booth for a shift. If you’re a young adult looking to get involved, check out Ashley’s page for contacts and events!

District 14 also took part in the Wet & Wild Parade, the world’s largest water fight, courtesy of Sue Hoffer (PC-1405) and her husband Barry. We braved the gauntlet, gave as good as we got, and made it out the other end!

We also want to thank Miguel DeLuna (PC-1402), Dwight McCarty (PC-1409), Eric Petersen (PC-1415) and Michael Chew (PC-1417) for spending time manning the booth. We have great volunteers in District 14!

At the booth we played a fun game with passersby, asking two questions: Who will replace President Joe Biden on the Democrat ticket, and who will Donald Trump pick as his VP?

Of course, the fun and games became deadly serious when we learned of the assassination attempt on Donald Trump in Pennsylvania that afternoon. It was surreal watching the news spread through the crowds. Thankfully he is ok, though our hearts go out to the man in the crowd who was killed shielding his family from bullets.

We are thankful that our communities of Eagle, Emmett, and Gem County are full of people who still believe in traditional values. Despite all the rhetoric we see on social media, an event like Eagle Fun Days serves to remind us of what really matters — faith, family, and freedom.
